The TCI Difference: 12 Unique Palettes with 12 Distinct Predominant Dimensions
Did you know color has 3 dimensions?
The first dimension is Hue (or color) and in color analysis this can be broken down into warm (yellow), cool (blue), warm-neutral (yellow with a little blue) or cool-neutral (blue with a little yellow) undertones. Every person is unique and identifying your unique hue is the first step!
The second dimension is Value, and this is represented on a scale from the very lightest tones to the darkest tones. The final dimension is Chroma, which indicates if a tone a soft and muted or bright and vibrant.
So how does this relate to each unique palette? Throughout the analysis, each color drape is analyzed with respect to a particular dimension.
If your predominant dimension is Hue, then that means you are a True Palette Season – Spring or Autumn if you are warm or Summer or Winter if you are cool!
If your predominant dimension is Value, then your Hue is either warm-neutral or cool-neutral, and the tones that suit you best are either light (Light Spring or Light Summer) or dark (Dark Winter or Dark Autumn).
And finally, if your predominant dimension is actually Chroma, we will find again that your Hue is either warm-neutral or cool-neutral and that you need either the brightest, most vibrant tones (Bright Spring or Bright Winter) or you need the softer, more muted tones (Soft Summer or Soft Autumn) to balance with your natural harmony.
It’s no surprise that the dimensions unique to each palette are likely a reflection of the characteristics of your natural color of skin, eyes, and hair.
What is the difference between the TCI 12 Tone Method and all of the other Personal Color Analysis Service?
“TCI 12 Tone method tools, products and training have a proven, logical, scientific, and indisputable colour accuracy, theory, education and experience behind them. Correct interpretation of colour theory, the Munsell colour system, and the science behind human vision and the brains interpretation of colour harmony has resulted in the entire realm of colour has been divided into 12 distinguishable tones. Just as music has 12 distinguishable tones, so does colour. 3/4 of the population require ‘neutral’ (warm/cool) mixtures of colours. If a system does not have any, or a majority of these ‘neutral’ categories, then it does not provide the accuracy needed.
The TCI 12 Tone colour samples offer 65-70 different colours in each tone because there are only 12. These 12 follow the true movement of the seasonal color changes found in nature (remember all human beings colouring is a part of nature), and are clearly distinguishable as are the 12 tones in music. Within each of the TCI 12 Tones there are no “cross-over” colours – colours that you will find in two different groups; each of our colour groups is different and distinguishable from the others.”
